Kleinkredite
Seit 2016 werden die von der Bildungshilfe Nordost-Indien überwiesenen Gelder verwendet, um an junge Frauen und Männern aus des Volksstammes der Adivasi Kleinkredite zu vergeben. Studentinnen und Studenten aus sehr armen Familien haben so die Chance eine College-Ausbildung zu absolvieren und mit einem höheren Schulabschluss einen Beruf außerhalb der Teegärten zu finden. Neben einer Grundschulbildung - wie etwa an der Jivon Jyoti School -für möglichst viele Teegartenkinder ist es auch ein wesentliches Ziel der Salesianer Don Boscos Jugendliche für höhere Berufe wie Lehrer, Sozialarbeiter, Gewerkschafter, Anwälte usw. auszubilden. Diese sollen sich dann für ihre eigene Bevölkerungsgruppe einsetzen. Die Kredite werden im Anschluss an die berufliche Ausbildung von den Jugendlichen zurückgezahlt und können somit erneut verwendet werden.

In diesem Sinne arbeitet die Bildungshilfe sehr eng mit den Salesianern Don Bocos in Assam zusammen. Die Gelder werden - über die Salesianer Bonn - an unseren Ansprechpartner Father Bimal Lakra (siehe Fotos oben links mit Bildungshilfe Vorstand Tobi Scherbaum, oben rechts während der Arbeit und unten mit einer Gruppe jugendlicher Adivasi) überwiesen. Dieser wählt dann vor Ort geeignete Jugendliche aus, an die er die Kredite vergibt. Im Folgenden (unten) ein Briefauszug von Father Bimal, in dem er einerseits für die eingegangenen Gelder dankt, andererseits in knappen Worten Sinn und Zweck der Kreditvergabe beschreibt. Unten finden dann alle Interessenten noch einige Fotos von jugendlichen Adivasi College Studenten. Greetings and warm wishes from Father Bimal of Don Bosco Degree College, Golaghat.

You have been the most consistent and effective supporter of building a better life for the neglected and exploited migrant Adivasis working in the tea gardens of Assam all these past 10 years. Through your regular and substantial financial contribution, you have brought about tangible improvement in the life situation of the Adivasis of Assam.

I would like to update you on what has been done with the money you have sending me very regularly. At the moment there are 229 Adivasis doing their Higher (Degree level) studies in Don Bosco Degree College Golaghat. Of these 229, the number of boys is 119 and those of the girls is 110. Most of these are able to pursue their college studies and pay for their education because of your financial help. The Money which you give me is given out to them on loan, with no interests, so that expenses of their education is met.
This year, a special package was offered to the Adivasi students who performed credibly well in their Higher Secondary exam. The package was Free Admission, both in the college as well as in the Hostel. The money which was sent by you through Christoph and his daddy was used to offer this package.
The Money Received was Euro 4,500.00 (Exchange rate at Rs.76.50 per Euro). Total = Rs, 344,250/-
20 students with 68% marks and above, were given Free Admission both in the College as well as Hostel.

Continuation of Help requested
I do hereby most humbly renew again my request for further financial assistance. Only the admission is taken. Now their monthly fees, both in the college as well as Hostel needs to be paid each month. To do so money will be required. This money, of course, will not be given free but on LOAN basis, which will have to be returned back to the College by the students who take it. Returning of money will be done only after they get job and start earning.
